Phase 3 Public Feedback Process

The public feedback process undertaken in Phase 3 concluded on September 30, 2001. A report providing a summary of the key themes that emerged from the public feedback process is available on this site.

Through Phases 1 and 2 of the AJI-CWI, representatives of the Manitoba Metis Federation, Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak and the Province of Manitoba have worked to develop a proposed plan for the restructuring the child and family services system in Manitoba.

On August 9, 2001, the AJI-CWI's Executive Committee released public documents describing the proposed plan developed by their representatives. The Executive Committee also launched a public feedback process.

All Manitobans were encouraged to participate in the feedback process and, in so doing, help develop a system that is more responsive to the needs of children, families and communities throughout the province. Individuals and groups interested in finding out more about the AJI-CWI and/or providing feedback were invited to attend one of 12 town hall meetings being held across the province during the period September 9 to September 20, 2001. Individuals and groups could also prepare written submissions with their feedback. (Details related to the town halls and written submissions can be found on other pages of this web site.)

Copies of the public documents can be obtained by calling at 945-1183 or 1-866-300-7503 (toll-free) if you live outside Winnipeg. Copies of the documents are also available on this web site.
